I believe there is much room for exploration in the continually expanding idioms for art. My prints draw on my background of painting, drawing, sculpting, and printmaking and translates those media to shaped canvasses and giclée prints. I am attempting to express myself in new ways within a relevant art historical context. The print series relates directly to art that has been produced through more traditional media, but they take advantage of a relatively newer technology that has characteristics of its’ own. I don't see it as a replacement for mezzotints, lithographs, serigraphs, or engravings. I see it as a relatively new medium that became available through newer technology, just as all other media have come to exist.
